The First Conditional
The first conditional shows a cause and effect relationship.
For example:

- If I have any problems, I will let you know.
The "If-clause" can go before or after the main clause.
- If I have time, I might go hiking.
- She can join us if she wants.
The main clause uses modals such as “will,” “can,” "might," and ,“should.”
If we leave now, we should have enough time.
- I will call you if I have any problems.
- We might change plans if something comes up.
The “If-clause” uses the present simple.
- If he leaves, I will tell you.
- If it snows, we can go skiing!
The words, "unless" and "as long as" can also make "If-statements."
- I cannot go unless I finish my work.
- We can play tennis as long as it doesn't rain.
